Northern Nigeria has always been synonymous with a sort of tech deformation due to different factors which might include low internet penetration and in some places, increased acts of terrorism affecting proper infrastructures around. The later has had an effect on the kind of startups that spring up, with more of software than hardware startups.
A new hub, AlphaHUB which is an Innovation centre has opened in the northern part of Nigeria. The hub is dedicated to drive research and development in Hardware and Embedded System Technology, and is located in Kaduna State to provide training, support and co-working space for budding entrepreneurs interested in the hardware development in Nigeria and Africa at large.
Kaduna state is also host to one of the most foremost hubs in Northern Nigeria – CoLab, headed by Sanusi. The newest AlphaHUB is founded by Victor Jibro, an entrepreneur with a passion for solving problems.
Talking about his new project, Victor Jibro stated that, “AlphaHUB is all about convenience and work efficiency, as we offer office for teams or a desk space for individuals. Example of devices that’ll be focused on at AlphaHUB includes, but not limited to are, inverters, stabilizers, alarm systems, car security, RFID door locks used by hotels and secured facilities. The hub would surely bridge the skill gaps in quality tech talents in the Nigerian tech hardware sector.
