Access to proper justice is surely a problem, if not anywhere, in Africa. Many people have their rights trampled upon and deprived of actual justice. Well, here’s an opportunity to accelerate anyone who wants to make a business out of this.

The HiiL Justice Accelerator finds and supports the world’s best justice entrepreneurs in order to create access to justice for all. Though they are particular about Africa and the Middle East, the opportunity is open to everyone across the world. Basically, they locate justice entrepreneurs and in many cases add them to their “Innovation Database.”

ELIGIBILITY

Does your innovation help people prevent or resolve their most pressing justice problems? Does it create rights awareness? Does it provide access to legal services or dispute resolution and improve efficiency and transparency in existing justice policies? Is it in one of the following 5 areas: Family Justice, Land- and Neighbour Disputes, Crime and Law Enforcement, Employment Justice, Micro, Small and Medium sized Enterprises? Then you can apply.

Applications from innovators who are addressing other pressing justice problems would be accepted, but very limited. Applications are open to everyone but encourages people from these countries to apply: Uganda, Kenya, Nigeria, Mali, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Ukraine, Tunisia, Lebanon, Jordan, Morocco, the United Arab Emirates and the Netherlands.

Deadline is 31st May, 2018.
