MongoDB Startup Accelerator is one that is designed to give early-stage startups the resources they need to grow their businesses. Before now, the program invested in 15 early stage companies after going through over 100 applications mainly from across the United States. Startups were chosen based on their membership in partner accelerator programs, including TechStars and Y Combinator.
This narrative is about to change, as the accelerator has concluded plans to take their program international. This year, to help bring these resources to even more startups around the world, they are working with AWS to expand the accelerator internationally. As a result, they will be funding over 100 startups who are using MongoDB to power applications in retail, insurance, IoT and more.
Gary Hoberman, the CEO of Unqork had said that, “We wouldn’t be where we are today without the support of MongoDB, AWS, and the Startup Accelerator program.”
Below are some members of the current accelerator portfolio:
Oceans: A social logbook and community for scuba divers and ocean explorers
Kinsu: A smart, flexible and fully transparent insurance app that makes everything from coverage to making claims simple
