In what is obviously a new move, Opera has announced that they’ll be launching a new browser software that has a built-in cryptocurrency wallet. This is in furtherance of their testing to be top in payments too. As the “new version of the Opera browser for Android… combines easy-to-use crypto wallet functionality with support for the Ethereum Web3 API.” Users are currently being invited to join the private beta testing.
The availability of this feature would make it easy for users go make transactions (send, receive and pay) in cryptocurrency. Rather than going all the way to connect to their mobile wallet to do this. It’ll all be possible via a simple toggle on the Opera browser.
Charles Hamel, the product lead on Opera Crypto, said in a release that, “We believe the web of today will be the interface to the decentralized web of tomorrow…By becoming the the first major browser to open up to Web 3.0, we would like to contribute to making the internet of the future more accessible.”
Asides the above, the launch of this browser has many other high points like lowering “the entry barrier to Web 3.0 for users” and offer the path for those wanting to “venture into the world of dapps and cryptocurrencies.”
Cryptocurrency is clearly having it’s run in the payment sector and all, but speculations still remain over its Future. Well, regardless, we live to see. Opera would turn very big winners if the future of crypto is secured.
