Applications are open for Vilcap Communities Africa programme

Applications are being accepted for VilCap Communities Africa, a programme with an aim of equipping entrepreneur ecosystem leaders across sub-Saharan Africa with tools, resources and connections that are needed to catalyse impact investment. The programme is organized by Village Capital and the UK Department for International Development (DFID) Impact.

As an Entrepreneur Support Organisation (ESO), you can apply to take part in forums from September 24-28 and October 22-26. Another batch of applications would be opened later this summer for a second cohort.

How to attract funding for your program, stimulating investment capital in your ecosystem, helping to prepare entrepreneurs to become ready for investment, improving certain aspects of ecosystem that need development, (like corporate partnerships, mentor networks, angel networks and access to venture capital) are the agendas to be covered on the programme.

 

To be eligible, you should be in one of the categories below:

+Accelerator or incubator of early-stage companies
+Seed stage or early-stage venture capital firm
+Association or network of entrepreneurs
+SME business advisory firm
+University incubator
+Think tank
+Foundation or family office

Your organisation must be focused on the support of early stage impact enterprises that are addressing great problems. In sections like financial inclusion, healthcare, environmental sustainability, and agriculture. Joint applications are welcome.

Timeline:

+Vilcap Communities Africa, Cohort 1 : 24-28 September
+Vilcap Communities Africa, Cohort 2 : 22-26 October
+Vilcap Communities Africa, Cohort 1 & 2 Forum : 12-14 November
