The African entrepreneurship award 2018 is now accepting applications from people who have a business or idea in Sports or a business or idea that is innovative.

One very important feature that should be present in your business or idea is innovation. Your business should be a new technology or invention, new business model or you should be attempting to solve a problem that’s never been solved before in your region.

To be exhausive, you should have an idea that is Durable, Multi-functional, Environmentally sustainable, Low cost and can be solving or providing a need in any sector of your choice. However, this year’s theme revolves around Sports and promoting integrity, perseverance and friendship to unite communities.

Being in sports, applications can include ideas that touches, Apparel, Equipment and Footwear. Fitness, Training and Sports Infrastructure, Events, Media and Spectator Experience, Health and Nutrition, Talent Management, Leisure and Tourism. A time range of ten months would be used to launch or scale your idea, build your business, & share in the Award.

There would be three rounds of online mentoring, and their mentors would help define your market & put your scalability to the test. Entrepreneurs in the top 50 are visited by the Award team. This would be in October. Finalists benefit from a 3-day Boot Camp; then pitch their ideas to the Presidential Jury, which decides the number of winners & how the $1 million award is shared.

Eligibility

As an applicant, you must meet the following criteria to submit your business proposal:

  • Be an African citizen, & over 18 years of age.
  • Your idea or business is a for-profit.
  • Have a strategy for positive social impact.
  • Idea includes a technological component.
  • Your idea or business is for Africa.
  • Your idea fits in one of this year’s categories.

Deadline is set at April 30th. APPLY HERE.
