Barely a fortnight ago, we covered that 500 Startups is organising its first Geeks On A plane Africa Tour and will visit Lagos, Accra, Johannesburg & Cape town. While that was indeed good news, an even better opportunity has presented itself to seed-level startups looking to go to the next level through mentorship, growth & pitch prep.
If you have a complete full-time team, a product already launched, and (ideally) some paying customers, 500 Startups wants you to apply for its 4-month seed program in San Francisco, CA. This batch (Batch 20) will feature startups disrupting across-the-board industries with two tracks focused on FinTech and Digital Health.
As you might already know, three Nigerian Startups, Podozi, Sure Bids (owners of Sure gift) and Aella Credit have joined the 500 Family and your startup can be the next. 40-50 startups from around the world are accepted per batch and some past companies coming out of 500’s seed program include: Punchd (acquired by Google), InternMatch, 9GAG, ToutApp, BrightNest (acquired by Angie’s List), PicCollage, Fitocracy, Chalkable (acquired by STI), Spinnakr, Bombfell, CompStak, TouristEye (acquired by Lonely Planet), and more.
The future is yours for the taking. The deadline to apply is November 23, 2016. The batch starts Jan. 23, 2017.
