Have you got an innovative solution that could help Africa’s development? The Agence Française de Développement (AFD, the French Development Agency) and the Banque Publique d’Investissement (BPI, the French Public Investment Bank) invites you to submit an application to the Digital Africa Startup Challenge 2017.
The AFD and the BPI want to encourage and support African entrepreneurs by organizing a competition open to both French and African startups. The Challenge aims to provide professional support to African Startups in the FinTech, health, environment, energy and agriculture sectors.
5 Winning startups will be selected from Africa and will benefit from services such as mentoring, incubation, networking and funding to the tune of 30,000 Euro for each winner.
Selection Criteria & Process:
- A Panel will choose the 40 best applications for the next stage using the following criteria: – team suitability, relevance of the solution, feasibility, sustainability, replicability, impacts on development, growth, employment
- The final selection will include four African startups and four French startups, all chosen by the jury. Two additional startups will be chosen by an online public vote.
- The 10 winning startups of the Digital Africa Startup Challenge will have the opportunity to present their solution at the 27thAfrica-France Summit in Bamako!
