Security is one very important part of any state, or country. Security, the lack or presence of it decides so many things, and the ease of doing them. It is therefore no surprise that the commercial capital of Nigeria, Lagos State is taking on revamping this sector.
In a partnership with First City Monument Bank ‘FCMB’ and Passion Incubator, the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund ‘LSETF’ organized a 3-day hackathon to review security solutions that will enhance the operations of existing agencies focused on security.
For a certain period, applications were open for developers who must have created a security solution to enhance the sector. The hackathon which held from 18th to 20th of May, believed that with over 20 million people in Lagos state, it is in a position to achieve a truly secured megacity.
Team LSFLOW (Group 3) and Team AboEko (Group 8) emerge as respective winners and runner up at the Secure Lagos hackathon. The hackathon is aimed at seeking new ways to secure the lives and properties of Lagosians using technology-based security.

Hopefully, this prize money would be use to further fine-tune their solutions to be used for the greater good of the state, and by extension, country. Nigeria would surely be better if more people paid a better attention to security.
