Yay! Easter is fast approaching, and it would soon come to that time when you might need to exchange gifts with loved ones. Yeah, I get, your loved one might be a startup founder. They’re surely a bit complicated, I know that too. But then, there are hacks to everything.

Do you have a startup founder as a friend, brother, sister, mother, father, fiancee, crush and so on, and you are out of ideas on what to give them as an Easter gift. Well, I have ideas for you here, and you don’t have to pay me for them. Just have your pick people. And get these “complicated” lots smiling again.

1. Books

When you think of an Easter gift for startup founders, you might as well think books. Giving founders books as a gift goes well to show how much you care about their business. Now, I’m talking a founder that cares about their business too. Books might not be “romantic”, but heck, Easter is about the resurrection of Jesus, not romance. Books are great as gifts, I promise. Examples of relevant books you could gift include Eric Ries new book, The Startup Way,  Zero to One by Peter Thiel, The richest man in Babylon, Think and grow rich and the likes.

2. Restaurant date

If you’ve met a number of startup founders before, chances are, they don’t eat well, save for a few. A lot of them depend on snacks and junk food to survive, as they are very engrossed in work. A gift idea (well, not exactly “gift” in the real sense) could be to take them on a date, let them eat good food for once. Asides making them happy, you’ll probably be extending their life span by at least a day (lol).

3. Bluetooth speaker

Instead of using ear(head)phones while working, you can give some startup founders the option of using a Bluetooth speaker. This is for those whose productivity increase while listening to music. Basically, getting a Bluetooth speaker for them would stop them from being shut out of the main world while using those earphones. Urgh.

4. Smartwatch

Well, they’ll likely have a smartphone, but a smart watch? Maybe not. They might, but they’ll just love your gift. Why? Because it’s a smartwatch. That is reason enough to appreciate, right?

5. Board games

Okay, you should know entrepreneurs are people who love to think much. And most board games require you to think well. So getting board games like chess, scrabble, draft, monopoly can help founders utilize their brain and serve as a form of relaxation too. So their brain isn’t idle when they take a break from work.

6. Wooden plaque

Inspiration could come from different places, in different ways. It isn’t absurd when you see startup founders quoting words said by those they look up to before now. Those words are one of the things that keep them going, and inspire them to do more. So, as an Easter gift, a wooden plaque which contains inspirational words would do. You could go the extra mile of getting to know the founder’s most favourite role model, and inscribe words said by that person on the plaque. It’ll be much appreciated.

7. Sleep tracker

While an average individual should get at least 8 hours of sleep daily, startup founders are not average. These lots get far less than that per night. Some 4, 3, maybe 2. Who need to track their sleep now? I think a sleep tracker that’ll enable them track and regulate their sleep would go far to help. For the sake of productivity, don’t you think? So, dear, get that sleep tracker as an Easter gift.

8. Gift cards

Now, this is a case of, get what you want by yourself. In a case where you don’t know what to get for a startup founder, a Gift Card which would allow him/her get what they want would be just fine. Sometimes, I feel this should be the way to go, especially when you don’t know much about the person in question. Head over to our friends at Suregift

So, what have you decided to get as an Easter gift, people? Any ideas asides these ones? Do let us know.
